Our Chief Instructor, Jason Firth, has been learning Kung Fu and internal arts for 30 years and has gained a Black Belt 5th Degree (5th Dan). He has won medals at national competitions and visited China to train with Chinese Masters. Jason is friendly and approachable and loves seeing students develop in confidence as they learn and improve their skills.

Our martial arts club is based around traditional Kung Fu. This includes line work, grading from white to black, self-defence, sparring and as you get through the grades leads on to weapons training and internal arts. We also teach Tai Chi and other forms of meditation as well as the practical self-defence side of Tai Chi.
Our classes are suitable for kids of all ages from 10 and above. Whether you're 10 or 80, we have something for you. You are never too old to learn a new skill like Kung Fu or Tai Chi, or too young to want to burn off some energy!
If you've learnt a simliar style to Kung Fu elsewhere, or want to try something new, you are welcome to come along. We will introduce you to the club and if you haven't trained for a while, gradually ease you in. After a few classes we will suggest a skills evaluation to check your level.
You can join the Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes at any time, there are no fixed courses that start on a particular date, we meet every week, we just ask that you sign up to a trial in order to experience more than 1 or 2 classes. For the Women's self defence, these are only short courses and run at fixed times, so check the website here for details. The trial lessons are valid for up to 3 months, after which they expire.
Like buying a house, it's always a good idea to shop around. We welcome prospective new students to come along and take part for a few weeks to see if this is the right club for you. We are a friendly club where everyone is respected.
It doesn't matter if you think your too fat, too small, too big, have a learning or physical disability, are too shy or something else! We don't judge a book by it's cover (we are called Hidden Dragon for a reason) and we can all learn these skills to your own personal level.
Depending on our schedule we are happy to come along to your community group (such as Scouts, Guides, WI, Youth Clubs and other community groups) and run an introduction class for you. This could be Kung Fu, Tai Chi or some basic self-defence depending on your interest or just a talk.
If you want to try something a little different for a team building event, do get in touch to discuss your requirements whether it be a self-defence class, Tai Chi, a weapons demonstration or something else.
If you have a question that we haven't covered here then please use the contact form to get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as we're out of the dojo! There is no such thing as a stupid question - especially if we haven't covered it here!
